I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people...

Luke 2:9-12 --(v.11) For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord
        (v. 13,14) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying:    Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.

The celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is almost here. Amidst the secular rhetoric by which we are bombarded  each day, we as his people must remember to hold His birth dear to our hearts. He is the reason for the season. The myths and traditions are but a secular answer to a problem of the heart.  We, as His people, are to be a light in a dark world, setting an example of truth.  The truth is, Jesus is Lord of our lives and of this season that is to last year round.

Without His birth, death and resurrection we would not have the opportunity to be reborn of Spirit into His Kingdom as His children.
I am reminded at this time of the year of my own rebirth into His body as one of His own. The tree reminds me of the tree from which He hung. The tinsel and gold reminds me of the things of this world that He took to the Cross, my sin. The lights are a reflection of Him. God is light. The rainbow of covenant has all the colors and is still about His throne.

The angels sang praise at the birth of our Savior. Let us also remember in this time to give Him all the praise, honor and glory as we remember.

Happy Christmas to all as we remember together.
